Biography

Dr. Xianmei Meng has received her PhD from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China in the field of Applied Chemistry. Currently, she is working as an assistant project scientist in University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her primary research interests include transdifferentiation of somatic cells into cardiovascular progenitor cells (CPCs) and cardiomyocytes of clinical interest, reprogramming of somatic cells into patient-specific iPSCs, generation of good manufacturing practices (GMP) grade CPCs from iPSCs and ESCs, cardiac stem cell expansion, stem cell therapy on cardiovascular disease. She is an expert Reviewer for journals like PLOS ONE, Cell Transplantation, Cellular Reprogramming, Journal of Translational Medicine, etc. She is a member of American Heart Association (AHA), International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) and American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT).

Research Interest
