Biography

Professor Tingyue Gu attended Purdue University from 1986 to 1990 and got his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering in 1990. He is currently a full professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department at Ohio University. He is the assistant chair for graduate studies. His research interest includes biofilms and their mitigation, biocorrosion, bio-electrochemistry, microbial fuel cells, liquid chromatography, bioseparations, bioenergy from biomass and wastewater. He is the recipient of the Russ College best research paper award of 2014. He is an ad hoc reviewer for over 70 technical journals such as Journal of the American Chemical Society, AIChE Journal, Chemical Engineering Science, Biotechnology Advances, and Enzyme and Microbial Technology. He is the associate editor of Bioresources and Bioprocessing. He is the editorial board member of Separation and Purification Technology, Bioprocess & Biosystems Engineering, and Journal of Chemistry. He has published more than 100 journal articles and book chapters including one monograph. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and NACE International.

Research Interest
