Dr. T. M. Sankaranarayanan has received his PhD in NCCR-Anna University during the period of 2008-2012. Currently, He is working as Postdoctoral Researcher at the Thermochemical Processes Unit of the IMDEA Energy Institute. Before joining IMDEA, he worked as a project assistant on selective oxidation of lower alkanes as a project assistant at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, from 2004 to 2006 and on End point reduction of straight run diesel at the National Center for Catalysis Research, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, from 2007 to 2008. Later at the National Centre for Catalysis Research he pursued his doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. S. Sivasanker and received his Ph.D. degree from Anna University, Chennai, India on March 2013. During his doctoral research, he extensively studied the Transesterification and Hydroprocessing of vegetable oil (edible and non-edible oils) on mixed metal oxides. He was also involved in collaboration with others for the Hydrogenolysis of polyols, Fuels from microalgae, Catalytic cracking and Hydrotreating (viz. HDS, HDM, HDN and HDO) reactions. His research interests have included the biomass to value added chemicals, development of catalytic materials for second Generation and Advance high quality bio-fuels. He is a member of ACS, International Zeolite Association, Catalysis Society of India and STM journals. His postdoctoral research is focused on the Second Generation Biofuels from lignocellulose biomass. He has 11 publications in international journals. He has participated in 11 various research projects
