Biography

Dr Konstantinos Voskarides has received his PhD in University of Cyprus during the period of 2003-2008. Currently, he is working as researcher in genetics and as teaching staff in the Medical School at University of Cyprus. His research has mainly included until now: genetic investigation of familial renal diseases and related modifier genes, population studies of genetic variants predisposing for multifactorial and pharmacological traits, evolutionary interactions between different genomic elements, theoretical models in evolution, DNA repair genes and evolution. He is serving as an expert Reviewer in several reputed journals like CJASN, Journal of Pharmacogenomics & Pharmacoproteomics, Journal of Phylogenetics & Evolutionary Biology, BMC Medical Genetics, PLOS ONE, Pediatric Nephrology and others. He has authored about 30 research articles in peer review journals and has also edited a book in Springer publishing group entitled: “Genomic Elements in Health, Disease and Evolution: junk DNA” (1st edition 2015).
