Over 40 year’s experience as a healthcare scientist specialising in microbiology, hygiene and infection prevention. With successive Health Service and University Medical School appointments, Ian has extensive experience in teaching, biomedical and related research, and commercial consultancies with medical device, pharmaceutical and others in the manufacturing section. Now in full time private practice with limited sessional teaching at the University of West London, and an appointment to the UK Care Quality Commission, Ian is particularly active in the regulatory process of personal and organizational practice and the delivery of safe care. He is an internationally recognised Expert Witness advising civil and criminal counts, the Coronial court, the High court, and miscellaneous tribunals and licensing bodies in matters of microbiology, medical malpractice, hygiene and infection prevention, environmental protection, even murder!
