Biography

Erzheng Su completed his PhD in 2008 from the East China University of Science and Technology. He served as assistant professor and associate professor at the East China University of Science and Technology from July, 2008 to August, 2012. Presently, he is an associate professor of biochemical engineering at the Nanjing Forestry University and the director of department of food science and technology, which works with industry in developing bioprocesses for production of bioenergy and value-added products from forestry materials and food processing waste. Dr Su has more than 30 scientific publications and several patents in the field of biochemical engineering. Dr Su has served as the editor of 1 journal and the reviewer of more than 20 journals.

Screening, purifying and characterizing enzymes for industrial use
Creating better tools for new biocatalyst development
High-level expression and large-scale preparation of industrial enzymes
Modifying enzymes in vitro for biocatalysis, such as molecular imprinting, immobilization and chemical crosslinking
Enzymatic synthesis of biodiesel, biobased chemicals, chiral products, biopharmaceutical products and other functional compounds
