Abstract:

The bone graft procedures for vertical gain are still controversial in implantology. There is no consensus in the literature about techniques to increase height of the alveolar bone crest for future implant placement. Furthermore, the treatment time is too long when performing the bone graft techniques with delayed implantation. Thefore, the aim of this lecture is to describe a technique for simultaneous vertical bone augmentation at implant placement. A young patient who had already been rehabilitated with implants, presented a large defect ridge in height and width in the teeth 11, 12 and 21 dental correspondent areas. She was subjected to three-dimensional bone reconstruction through bone ring envolving the mentual area as the donor site. The treatment planning recommended in this case was an approach aimed at the removal of the implants (explantation) and, at the same time, performed a connective tissue graft, creating conditions more predictable for the three-dimensional bone reconstruction with simultaneous implantation. After eight months, the reopening and provisioning procedures were performed achieve a satisfactory emergence profile and consequently, an acceptable aesthetic and functional result.
