Terpenoids, coumarins of plants of Ferula L from flora of central Asia and their biological activity

Abstract:

The flora of Central Asia is very rich and well known with medical plants. Among them there are also the plants of Ferula genus. Perennial herbs the Ferula L (Apiaceae family), including 150 species, are widely distributed in the world. The flora of Central Asia includes about 100 species and is widely used in the folk medicine as anticancer, antimicrobic, various diseases and estrogen activity. The coumarins, flavonoids and sesquterpenoids were isolated from genus Ferula . The results of chemical studies of Ferula genus species - Ferula jaeschkeana Vatke, Ferula samarcandica, Ferula tenuisecta Eug. Kor, Ferula kuhistanica Korov, Ferula involucrata, Ferula feruloides and Ferula ovina from flora of Central Asia: various chemical composition at these plants, the structures of isolated compounds (including new compounds) and also their biological activity will be presented in the report

Biography :

K. A. Eshbakova has completed her PhD in 1997 at the age 37 years from Acad. S.Yu.Yunusov Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances of the Academy Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. She initially worked as young scientific researcher, later since 1995 she was a scientific employee, and since 1998 she is a senior researcher fellow in the Institute. She has published more than 27 papers in reputed journals as Chemistry of Natural Compounds, Medicinal plants
