Abstract:

I would like to showcase our evolving integrated model of Telemedicine and Remote Monitoring services using real-time, interactive technologies. A pilot phase wherein a special FDA approved remote monitoring device pod will be stationed in a Mosque and a School to cater to a captive base of 10,000+ subjects. This will capture height, weight, BMI, vital parameters like pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturations. Advanced features of remote monitoring options include: 12-lead ECG, Electronic Stethoscope, Spirometry, Audiometry, Medical cameras, Glucose monitoring, Otoscope, Dermascope etc. An app to fill in the 5 points questionnaire as a health risk stratification tool. Screened and a virtual consult by a General Practitioner/Specialist and after an E consultation, Doctor will generate EMR and E-prescriptions on HIS. A study by Whittaker et al. has provided evidence for Telemedicine which significantly reduces the risk of a secondary event and readmission and would equate to a savings in health care costs of $2,375 per patient. Also, a retrospective review of pediatric orthopedic patients consulted via telehealth at the Queensland over a 10-year period found that 40% of patients seen had picked up cerebral palsy, or congenital syndrome. ???They buried me not knowing that I am a seed???. The former refers to the healthcare innovations which get buried at various depth and only minuscule percentage erupt from the research and testing phases into a commercial buy-in. Many of the disruptive technologies die a lonely death, rarely seeing the light of mankind adoptions. Let us all strive together to revive the People-Public-Private Partnership model (PPPP) to usher in renaissance for better accessibility and usability.
