Abstract:
Reciprocating instruments are one of the latest innovations in endodontics that not only shortens and improves endodontic treatment but also shortens the learning curve for newcomers to rotary instrumentation. Rotary were considered as the golden standard for root canal instrumentation. In 2011, the first reciprocating instruments were introduced into the dental market setting the stage for an arms race between companies to produce the most efficient and flexible single-use single-file instrument. Now, it has been five years since the first reciprocating instrument was introduced, where do we stand? What are instruments available? Which ones are better and more clinically usable? Come and join me and find out the in and out of single file reciprocation.
