The aim of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of self-criticism/reassurance scale (SCRS) among students of the universities of Tehran. In the first stage, the original version of the self-criticism/reassurance scale (Gilbert et al., 2004) was translated from English to Persian by two professional translators. Then the scale was re-examined by Psychology Professors and finally, Persian questionnaire was prepared with 22 items and was administered to 300 students of the universities of Tehran. Using exploratory factor analysis method, by deleting three items, the three factorsâ?? structure of the questionnaire was confirmed. Internal consistency coefficients by Cronbach's Alpha was calculated at an acceptable level. Generally, the validity and reliability coefficients of self-criticism/reassurance scale were satisfactory. Therefore self-criticism/reassurance scale forms a homogeneous set that has an appropriate factor structure and is eligible for psychological research and clinical application in Iranian society
