Many more of our needs in food, medicine, etc. could be covered with products from nature and often with molecules contained in microalgae. The biotechnologies sectors have experienced an important increase in its capacity of selection, identification and production of useful molecules for our society. The latest molecular separation, analysis and identification techniques are allowing us to relate, increasingly better, the effects observed with the responsible molecules, identify the species of microalgae that naturally produce them, and the metabolic pathways used. Particularly, within the range of identified molecules, it has been possible to study and learn more about the activity of some and on problems linked to blood and hematology in general. News and knowledge are now appearing that tend to show that there are certain molecules produced by microalgae species that could help solve these problems. These cells could be used as transport vectors of these molecules for their ingestion as nutraceuticals as well as to obtain base biomass for extraction and injection in different ways. We will review here which is at this moment the state of knowledge reached on this topic. Finally, we will review in detail about two microalgae species that can present composition or generate beneficial molecules for this purpose.
