M anaging impacted teeth is an inevitable challenge confronting orthodontists during treatment. Many factors could complicate this challenge such as patient?s age, cooperation and oral bad hygiene, as well as impacted tooth position. Beside problems of ankylosis, every orthodontist should have an evidence-based guidance, in order to decide whether the solution of choice for an impacted tooth is theorthodontic-surgical placement on the arch, or the extraction. In this presentation we will expose the main factors of difficulty, and will discuss treatment guidance for different situations through out six clinical cases some with long-termfollow up.
