Abstract:

Tooth surface loss (TSL) is a generalized term used to describe the loss of dental hard tissues from surfaces of teeth caused by factors other than dental caries, trauma or a result of developmental disorder. There are two kinds of TSL, physiological tooth surface loss which is defined as, normal tooth surface wear process microscopically irreversible and cumulative with age and pathological tooth surface loss which is associated with functional or aesthetic concerns, disproportionate for the patients age, symptoms or discomfort are present, severe rate TSL. Objectives of this lecture �?� Definition of tooth wear. �?� How to do proper examination. �?� Subdivisions of tooth wear and its causes. �?� Assessment, treatment planning. �?� Strategies for prevention and passive management of tooth wear. �?� Treatment Methods.

Biography :

Randa Shaker has completed her graduation from the King Saud University, Saudi Arabian. He/She has done research work in dental health and surgery and currently working as Consultant – Advanced General Dentistry and Residency Program Director at Department of Dentistry, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center- Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Her accomplishment towards work in dental research and industry have given great exposure and experience in the field. Experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in research work is shown in publications in various journals
