Abstract:

Objective: Assess the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on dentists' activities, the management of patients in fixed prosthesis, identify the best defenses and propose new Post Covid recommendations within dental practice to reduce the risk of infection. Material and Methods: A descriptive epidemiological study was carried out based on a questionnaire, comprising 30 questions, which is distributed online and of interest to Tunisian dentists in the Sahel region. Results: In total, 282 dentists were included in the study. The majority of Tunisian dentists (62.4%) had a history of Covid-19. Since the lockdown was lifted, there has been significant use of defenses by comparing them before the pandemic. The majority of dentists (60.3%) reduced the number of sessions of prosthetic treatment and 65.2% gave priority to functional recovery as aesthetic recovery during the pandemic period. Conclusion: This study highlighted some of the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on our joint prosthetic dental practice. To understand that this pandemic requires change, a series of recommendations were noted accordingly.
