Abstract:

Fenugreek is an important spice crop grown in India. Quantifying the association between yield and its component is crucial in its breeding. Twenty five fenugreek genotypes were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications to study the association between yield and yield components. Days to pod maturity had a negative correlation with seed yield per plant. Seed yield per plant showed highly significant positive correlation with number of pods per plant, dry weight of the plant, harvest index and seed yield per plot at both genotypic and phenotypic level and positive correlation with fresh weight indicating that selecting for these traits would be effective in seed yield improvement of fenugreek.
