Abstract:

The Novel corona virus pandemic has emerged as a grave global health crisis and the greatest challenge health care challenge faced since World War Two. The pandemic curve is still on a rise in many countries including India and the scientists still remain dubious regarding the timeline for curbing the disease. The impact of COVID-19 on the Indian healthcare industry has been unique faced with numerous challenges. While dental practice is being resumed cautiously, standard infection control protocols that were traditionally overlooked are now being strictly implemented. Post COVID-19, dental care is expected to see a drastic change in the way it is practiced. The present review highlights the COVID-19 preparedness especially for dental practice. Need of the hour is to be well appraised of recent guidelines by authorized agencies and to be well prepared for the dynamic changes required.

Biography :

Swati Jain is Consultant, Dental Public Health with experience of more than 12 years of experience in Dentistry. She has done her B.D.S from I.T.S-C.D.S.R and has been a scholar throughout, received distinction in the subject of Oral Medicine and Radiology and Conservative Dentistry. She pursued her Post Graduation in Public Health Dentistry from D.J. College of Dental Sciences and Research. She has Extensive experience in Community based Oral Health Programs. She is currently working as Consultant in Mobile Dental Clinic Project under National Health Mission in Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences.
