Abstract:

Al-Qurayyat province has a number of sulfur springs which has been described as a cure for a number of health ailments that
may be a reason to treat those who suffer from certain chronic diseases. The aim of this study was to determine and identify
bacteria of sulfur spring water and the chemical levels of sulfur in these springs. Suitable amount of water which collected in sterile
glass bottles (250ml) from different springs (Source & Surface) of water were put in insulated box containing ice. There are no
microorganisms in the water brought from the origin source in the springs while the surface water is contaminated with small
number of bacteria.

Meshref A Al-ruwaili is an Associate Professor and Consultant in Clinical Nutrition in Al-Jouf University, Former Dean of College of Applied Medical Sciences at Al-Jouf
University and Member of American Society for Microbiology and Saudi Society for Food and Nutrition. He published more than 26 papers in scientific journals. He
attended many National and International conferences.
