Abstract:

India�??s success in eliminating wild polioviruses (WPVs) has been acclaimed globally. The monumental task of interrupting wild poliovirus (WPVs) transmission has been achieved and sustained in India, already for two years ago. With this concerned extensive and exhaustive research for WPVs among child with multiple diseases even remotely resembling poliomyelitis has proved negative since 13th January, 2011. The poliomyelitis viruses attack the nervous system as a result causes crippling and paralysis causes until 1990s with an average of 500-1000 children getting paralyzed daily; in spite of introducing trivalent oral polio-vaccination throughout the country. Based on statistical survey the immunization program was extended to till February, 2015. The vaccine efficacy (VE) against type 1 and type 3 was lowest in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar where the force of transmission of WPVs is more on account of the highest infant-population density. During 2004 the immunization program was conducted nearly 10 times in a year, our study is focused in virtually every child was tracked and vaccinated-including in all transit points and transport vehicles. Elimination of WPV s with OPV is only phase-1 of polio eradication. India has attempted an excellent effort to progress of phase-2 with introduction of inactivated polio virus vaccine (IPV) also. Concurrently for past 3-years the country had not recorded a single polio-infected-case. India had been provably, officially declared by WHO that wild polio virus has been eradicated from country. India is now 100% free from polio tragedy due to constant efforts on immunization pulse polio program. In future all children in the globe has the right to walk straightly, be physically normal run and play.
