Biography

Yoshiyuki Takami, MD is a cardiovascular surgeon and is currently Division Director of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Nagoya Daini Red Cross Hospital. He will be Professor of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Kansai Medical University Takii Hospital at June 2013. He graduated from Kanazawa University School of Medicine in 1989. He received his PhD degree at Nagoya University School of Medicine in 2000. He was one of the members of the center for Artificial Organ Development, Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, Baylor College of Medicine during 1995 to 1997. He has performed over 1,500 cases of cardiovascular surgery.

Research Interest

His interests in research include development of centrifugal blood pumps for long-term ventricular assist, graft flow analysis in coronary artery bypass, and clinical improvement of surgical outcomes in the hemodialysis-dependent patients.
