Yongge Wei
Professor, Department of Chemistry
Tsinghua University, China

Biography

Prof. Dr. Yongge Wei was born in 1967. He received his BA from Central China Normal University in 1988, his MS from Wuhan University in 1991, and his Ph.D in chemistry from Peking University in 1995. He became a faculty member of the Chemistry Department of Peking University in 1995, and was promoted to associate professor in 1999. During the year of 2000-2001, he spent his post-doctoral time as a research associate at University of Missouri - Kansas City (USA), and joined Tsinghua University in 2005. He was honored as a Distinguished Young Scholars by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2012. His research interests include the chemistry of polyoxometalates, coordination chemistry and single-crystal X-ray crystallography, and are currently focused on the synthesis and chemical modification of polyoxometalates, polyoxometalate-promoted/catalyzed C-H bond activation and direct functionalization, and the reaction chemistry and controllable assembly of organically-derivatized polyoxometalates. He is now a member of the Council of Chinese Society of Crystallography and a member of the editorial advisory board of Polyoxometalate Chemistry.
