Biography

Dr. Yiliang Miao received his Ph.D from Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China. In 2009, Dr. Miao came to NIEHS/NIH as research fellow in Reproductive Medicine group headed by Dr. Carmen Williams. While at NIEHS, Dr. Miao has focused on egg activation during fertilization and embryonic genome activation. Dr. Miao found that Ca2+ influx not only maintained Ca2+ oscillations by replenishing Ca2+ stores, but also provided an important spatially restricted Ca2+ signal required for complete egg activation at fertilization. Until now, Dr, Miao published several papers on reproductive fields, such as PNAS, BOR, MRD, Hum Reprod Update and etc
