Biography

Dr. Sun is a research fellow at NTP, NIEHS. She received her M.D from China Medical University, China in 2000, and her Ph.D in Environmental Health and Community Medicine from Tsukuba University, Japan in 2006 and became a postdoctoral fellow at Inorganic Carcinogenesis group, NIEHS since 2007. She studied the role of Stem cells/Cancer stem cells during arsenic-induced malignant transformation in human skin models. In 2011, Dr. Yang Sun joined in the Worm Tox Screening Facility, NIEHS as a postdoc, where her research interests continued studying the mechanisms metal toxicity (cadmium, arsenic) by using cells and C. elegans model.  Dr. Sun is author/co-author of 15 peer-reviewed articles and has about 30 presentations/posters in conferences.
