Biography

In the academic year 1977/1978, he obtained the Scientific high school degree at Liceo Scientifico “Gaetano Salvemini” in Bari, with the grade 58/60. On the academic year 1987/1988, he obtained the Degree in Medicine and Surgery at La Sapienza University of Rome discussing the thesis “Frequent Abdominal Pains as a prognostic symptom of Cephalalgia in the age of development” with the grade 104/110. On October 1st 1992 he obtained the Theology Licence (specialization in Systematic Theology) discussing the thesis “The clinical use of Mifepristone – perspective and ethical issues” with grade Summa cum laude (9,7). On October 3rd 1994 he obtained the PhD in Systematic Moral Theology discussing the thesis “Moral evaluation of the clinic and abortive use of the Mifepristone” with the grade Summa cum laude (9,9), at Università Pontificia della Santa Croce. In 1995, he obtained the Post Degree Specialization on Bioethics at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, with grade “Excellent”. On January 31st 2001, he obtained the Bioethics PhD qualification at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, discussing the thesis “Methodology for the ethical evaluation of a clinic case”.
