Biography

Dr. Tien-Min Chu received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Taiwan in 1989. He later received his PhD degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1999. He obtained his post doctoral training from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan from 1999-2001. In 2001, He became Assistant Research Scientist in Biomedical Engineering and Assistant Clinical Professor in Prosthodontic Dentistry at the University of Michigan. In 2003, he started his career in Indiana as an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. He later joined Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2007 and became Associate Professor in Restorative Dentistry where he also holds adjunct appointments at Biomedical Engineering and Orthopedic Surgery.

Research Interest

His current research interests are in bone tissue engineering and in vivo dental implant evaluations.
