Biography

Dr. Thuy Le received her MD degree from the University of Arizona in 2002. She completed an internal medicine residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusett in 2005 and an infectious disease fellowship at Yale Medical school in New Haven, Connecticut in 2009. She then received a Fogarty International Clinical Research Fellowship from the NIH to study the epidemiology of Penicillium marneffei infection in Vietnam. She is now conducting an interventional study of treatment of HIV-associated penicilliosis at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.  Since 2010 she has joined the University of Hawaii at Manoa as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the University of Oxford Center for Tropical Medicine in the UK as an Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases. She is a receipient of multiple research grants from the National Institute of Health, the Wellcome Trust, and the UK Medical Research Council. She has reviewed papers for the Royal Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, the Clinical Infectious Diseases and has published in the Lancet, Clinical Infectious Diseases, AIDS, Antiviral Therapy and PloS ONE.

Dr. Thuy Le Research intersts includes Clinical infectious diseases, tropical infections, epidemiology, clinical HIV/AIDS, HIV virology, HIV immunology, HIV drug resistance, HIV-associated infections and complications, HIV-associated penicilliosis, tuberculosis.
