Biography
My research interests are developing glyconjugate vaccines against pathogenic bacterial serotypes of Pnuemococci and meningococcal strains. I am expertise in molecular cloning, protein expression and purification of different antigenic proteins and virus like particles (VLP’s) expressed in bacterial and insect cell line platform. Involved in evaluating new adjuvants for viral formulations and developing nano-particle based vaccine delivery of inactivated polio vaccine and measles vaccine. I am also involved in developing thermostable vaccines, immunological method development for characterizing each individual antigenic component in formulation mixtures.Developed monoclonal antibodies against different bacterial polysaccharides by hybridoma technology.
Research Interest
I did my PhD from Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. Presently working as a Senior Manager at Serum Institute of India Ltd (Second largest Vaccine manufacturer). I had 15 years of industrial experience in research and development worked in major biotech companies of Sanofi (formerly Shanta biotechnics Ltd), Wockhardt Ltd in India. I have published few international papers and process patents in the area of vaccine development.
