Biography

Dr. Shuang Li is currently a research scientist in the Earth Science Division of NASA, NASA-CASA Team, where he has been employed since August 2012. He is research scientist of the National Climate Assessment Project, at the NASA Ames Research Center in California. He works on the Earth\\\\\\\\s ecosystems, conducting environmental remote sensing research, studying potential indicators of climate change, and assessing drought impacts, post-fire ecosystem restore, and forestry biomass retrieval. His specific expertise is in optical, radar, and hyperspectral remote sensing application in climate and land use. Recent work includes assessment of climate change, and soil property mapping in arid, semi-arid regions. His education includes a B.A in Geography from Shanxi Normal Uinversity, 1996; an M.S. from Henan Uinversity, 2003, Geographic Science, and Ph.D. from Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, on Cartography and Geographic Information System, 2006.

Dr. Li was appointed as Adjunct Research Professor by California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) since 2012.
