Biography

Shabani Kililwa Muller is a senior research fellow at National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (NIVEDI), Bengalure, India. Before joining NIVEDI in 2015,He had been serving as laboratory scientist at National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), Morogoro clinical trial unit formerly known as (MOMS). His research is focused on molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases specifically malaria, leptospirosis and brucellosis. He had participated in conducting research on molecular epidemiology of leptospirosis and brucellosis in Western part of Tanzania where He managed to sequence leptospira species from human subjects. Recently He had been awarded Research Fellowship to carry out research on public health in India. In India, He had managed to develop a recombinant Leptospira surface antigen (Lsa25) protein based latex agglutination test (LAT) for serodiagnosis of leptospirosis. He received his MSc degree in One Health molecular Biology from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania and attended several trainings on public health.
