Biography

Raymond Sun graduated from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2004 with a PhD degree under the supervision of Professor Chi-Ming Che and Professor Hongzhe Sun. His doctoral research was focused on the anti-cancer and anti-viral properties of gold (III) porphyrin complexes and their related complexes. He is currently working as a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, HKU, and is engaged in the development of anti-cancer gold-, platinum-, ruthenium and ytterbium complexes with potent cytotoxic, cytostatic and anti-angiogenic activities. Dr. Sun has published over 40 research articles in various international journals including Angewandte Chemie, Cancer Research, JACS, and Chemical Science. He is currently holding a FICPI certificate for patent drafting, and is the inventor of four patents on metal-based medicines.
