Biography

Raul Morales is Medical Director of the American Red Cross (ARC) in San Juan, P.R. since December of 2010. He serves as Director of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Director of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program (HCT/P), and Immunohematology Reference laboratory (IRL) at the ARC in PR since then. He is Chief Medical Officer of Ashford Institute of Hematology & Oncology since 1995 with privileges as attending/consultant at the Medicine Department of the Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital since then. He served on 2002-2007 as Chief of Staff and Interim Medical Director as well as member of Board of Trustees of the Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital. He served as Vice-Chairman & Chairman of the Board of Trustees at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine on 2005-2010. He recently served as the Medical representative on the Board of Directors of Gurabo Community Health Care Center which administers three ambulatory community centers from 2010 to 2012. He performed peer review for IMMUNOHEMATOLOGY Journal of Blood Group Serology and Education, JOURNAL OF BLOOD DISORDERS & TRANSFUSION, and INTERNATIONAL BLOOD RESEARCH & REVIEWS.

He obtained a bachelor degree in science with major in biology & sociology at the University of Puerto Rico on 1985, medical degree at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in PR on 1990, residence in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI on 1993, and fellowship in hematology/oncology at Providence Hospital & University of Michigan Medical Center in Michigan, USA on 1995.
