Biography

Dr. Ramesh P Aacharya is Professor in the Department of Emergency & General Practice and Chief of Emergency Services at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital; had Erasmus Mundus Masters of Bioethics from the consortium of Catholic University (Leuven, Belgium), Radboud University (The Netherlands) and University of Padova (Italy). He also had a course on Clinical Trials Design and Management from University of California Santa Cruz Silicon Valley Extension. He was Chief Editor (2001-05) of the Journal of Nepal Medical Association. He was member (2002-09) of ethical review board at Nepal Health Research Council and contributed to develop and disseminate the national ethical guidelines on health research. He is also involved in Forum for Ethical Review Committees in Asia and the Western Pacific (FERCAP) including recognition program for research ethics committees. Currently, he is a member of ethical review board at Nepal Health Research Council and also, a member of institutional review committee at Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University.
