Research Interest

Investigating molecular mechanism of Api6 (Apoptosis inhibitor 6) and MMP12 in modulating immunological function of MDSCs (Myeloid-derived suppressor cells), using myeloid-specific mouse model. The effects of inflammation can be shown to extend all the way back to the most primitive hematopoietic progenitors. This may have important implications for the control of inflammation in patients. Stat3 and its downstream genes serve as biomarkers for lung adenocarcinoma and COPD diagnosis and prognosis in humans. Establish in-house expertise in animal models relevant to testing efficacy and safety of those human antibodies to generate in vitro and in vivo data that support investigational new drug filings for product candidates.
