Biography

Ms. Nidhi Buch, graduated in Economics and persuaded Law and obtained LL.M with Commercial Law specialization. Moreover, she has completed her Post Graduate diploma in Intellectual Property Rights. She gained wide experience as a Consultant on Intellectual Property Rights with National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India in the year 2001- 2004. She was exposed to policy framing for protection of Intellectual Property generated by Faculty and Students of said Institute. She was associated with various Law schools and Management institutes in the capacity of a Visiting Faculty. Being qualified Advocate, she has also worked in the chamber of senior advocate at Gujarat High Court. Presently, she is an Assistant Professor of Law with Gujarat National Law University, India taking up different courses in Under Graduate and Intellectual Property Rights in Post Graduate specifically. She is actively associated with Gujarat State Judicial Academy as Visiting Faculty, imparting training to newly recruited Judicial Magistrates. Her doctoral study is based on ‘Jurisdictional Issues in Intellectual Property Rights Violations’ which is currently under persuasion.

Research Interest

My research interests include Protection of trademark and copyright in the digital world, Emerging issues of conflict of laws in intellectual property rights regime, piracy and copyright, Plagiarism and Copyright protection, Counterfeiting and brand protection, traditional knowledge and geographical indications.
