Biography

Nancy Fathali holds a Ph.D. in neurophysiology from the Department of Human Anatomy and Pathology at Loma Linda University. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University. In her current research endeavors, Dr. Fathali uses transgenic mouse models to study the molecular mechanisms involved in the cross talk between the peripheral and central nervous systems after stroke. She has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for several leading journals, and is currently a member of various editorial review boards. She has guest lectured medical scientists on central nervous system development and pathology, and was co-Instructor for a course on cerebral pathophysiology.

Stroke, inflammation, astrocytes, peripheral immune system, and neurobehavior.
