Mikhail L Bondarev
Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Hampton University, USA

Biography

Dr. Bondarev received his M.S. in Bioorganic/Medicinal Chemistry (1982) from I. I. Mechnikov Odessa State University, Ukraine and Ph.D. in Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry from A.V. Bogatsky Physico-Chemical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1986). He got his post-doctoral experience in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA, and then in the Drug Discovery Unit at Affymax Research Institute, Santa Clara, CA. Dr. Bondarev joined the faculty at the Hampton University School Pharmacy in July 2009. His research interest is the design and synthesis of new receptor ligands which are active in the CNS. He has a long-standing interest in the field of serotonin, nicotinic acetylcholine, and GABA1A (benzodiazepine site) receptors. Additionally, his work involves the study of new synthetic methodology towards the construction of CNS active heterocyclic and chiral molecules. Dr. Bondarev has published his research in numerous peer reviewed journals.
