Biography

Li-Quan Wang is a Manager of Drug Metabolism and Biotransformation at XenoBiotic Laboratories, Inc. He manages and directs drug metabolism and bioanalysis of various types of molecules from drug discovery to development. He received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2000, co-educated by Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Institute of Natural Medicine, Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Japan. In 2001, he went to Dr. Margaret O. James’s lab in College of Pharmacy, University of Florida as a Post-doctorate associate to conduct phase I especially phase II drug metabolism research. In 2005, he joined FMC Corporation as a Senior Research Scientist. In 2008, he joined XenoBiotic Laboratories, Inc as a Senior Research Scientist, Group Leader in 2010, and Manager in 2012 in Drug Metabolism and Biotransformation Group. He has published over 40 articles/reviews in peer-reviewed journals. His won the Most Cited Review Article Award for his review article “Mammalian Phytoestrogens: Enterodiol and Enterolactone” in Journal of Chromatography B. He was the winner in the postdoctoral fellow division of the Best Poster Competition in the 18th Annual Research Showcase and Awards Recognition Day in College of Pharmacy, University of Florida. He was the Recipient of Travel Grant Award of 13th North American ISSX/20th JSSX meeting in Maui, Hawaii. His current research is primarily focused on various drug discovery and development projects, e.g. in vitro/in vivo drug metabolism, drug-drug interactions, metabolite profiling, metabolite identification by MS and NMR, metabolite quantitation and semi-quantitation. He is a member of ISSX and ASMS.
