Biography

Leonor Chacín-Bonilla, MD and DMSc at the Universidad del Zulia (LUZ), Venezuela. Post-doctoral studies in Parasitology at the Tulane University, LA, USA. Visiting Professor at this Institution and CDC, Atlanta, GA, USA. Full time Professor and head of the Parasitology Section, Instituto de Investigaciones Clínicas, LUZ for several years. Currently, full time Emeritus Professor at this Institution and the Postgrado de Inmunología, LUZ. Author of more than 90 articles, and participant in more than 150 national and international meetings. Member of the Editorial Board of Investigacion Clínica for several years and Editor for one year. Currently, Member of the Editorial Board of the World Journal of Translational Medicine, Reviewer for several international journals, and advisor of some Institutions. Trainer of several graduate students and receiver of several important regional awards. Innovative and longstanding research has been a pursuit in her academic career.

Research Interest

Reserch field of her interest is mostly epidemiological and clinical studies in intestinal parasites.
