Biography

Kimura Hitoshi received the B.S. from the Tohoku University, Japan, in 1994, and received the MS from the Tokyo University in 1996. He received the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan in 2004. He is currently an assistant professor in the department of Mechanical and Control Engineering at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. His research interests include robotics, mechatronics and flexible mechanisms. He proposes a unique flexible robot which has hermetically double looped structure. Flexible ciliary actuator sheet is also unique innovation. He also proposed new accelerometer examination method to detect actual sensor direction.
