Research Interest

The primary focus of the research includes firstly, understanding the pathophysiology of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), development of disease biomarkers and diagnostic laboratory tests that would facilitate earlier treatment intervention, help monitor treatment efficacy by analyzing blood/CSF metabolome, whole brain proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy/diffusion tensor imaging and muscle phosphorous magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Secondly, understanding the pathophysiology and treatment for immunemediated peripheral muscle and nerve disorders (inflammatory myopathy, myasthenia gravis, chronic immunemediated polyneuropathy[CIDP], CIDP associated with diabetes mellitus[DM-CIDP]) using various immunomodulative and immunosuppressive therapies.
