Biography
Dr. Vivek Kattel is the Incharge of Tropical and Infectious Disease Unit in a Medical school and referral hospital in Eastern Nepal. He is an emerging infectious disease consultant and hired infectious disease expert by EDCD, DoHS, Ministry of Health & WHO Nepal. Dr. Kattel shares experiences of caring more than 1500 cases of leishmaniasis, more than 1000 cases HIV and more than 100 cases HIV HCV HBV co-infection cases of the territory. He has been involved in developing tropical medicine & evidence based medicine courses with coordination with Intitule of Tropical Medicine, Belgium; and training more than 150 doctors (primary physicians working remote part of Nepal) besides undergraduate, post graduate and paramedicals for more than last half decade. He has contributed on national guideline on “Updated national guideline for Kala azar elimination program 2018” and “National guideline for infectious and outbreak potential disease in Nepal“ besides dozen of publications.
