The research in my laboratory involves mostly patient-orientated translational studies to develop a detailed understanding of the immune pathophysiology of hematological disorders including autoimmune cytopenias andhemoglobinopathies. Another focus is to understand adverse complications of transfusion. Our goal is to identify immune biomarkers of the disease and develop therapeutic strategies that target the defective immune system and corrects them.
