Biography

Dr. Jun Xi graduated with a bachelor degree in chemistry from Beijing University in China. He received his PhD degree in bioorganic chemistry from Cornell University in 2002, where he did his thesis work on investigation of thiamine biosynthesis. His postdoctoral training was focused on enzymology of DNA replication. He used various biophysical and biochemical techniques to examine the assembly of DNA replisome. He had also worked for Corning Inc. as a senior research scientist before he became an assistant professor of chemistry at Drexel University in 2007. His current research is focused on utilizing nanomechanical approaches to address mechanistic questions in the field of biology.
