Hanan Awad Alkozi
Professor, Optics and Optometry, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology IV
Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain
Hanan is a PhD holder from Complutense University of Madrid, in the biochemistry and molecular biology department in the faculty of Optometry and Optics. She studied Optometry and vision sciences and her area of expertise is biochemistry and molecular biology, mainly concerning glaucoma and elevated intraocular pressure with a special focus on therapeutical approaches. She investigates melatonin synthesis in the ciliary body and the crystalline lens. Apart from melatonin synthesis, Hanan is also familiarized with molecular biology assays for GPCRs receptor heteromerization. Regarding her research experience, she is an author of several papers in peer-review journals, such as acta ophthalomologica, International journal of molecular sciences and Experimental Eye Research. Also, she often participates in several symposiums by presenting posters or oral presentations.
