Biography

He completed his Ph.D. in 2001 from College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. His postdoctoral research was carried out in Harvard Medical School. He is a member of various societies such as American Society of Cell Biology, American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Protein Society, Taiwan Microscopy Society. He served as an editorial board member for various journals like Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, Austin Journal of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. He is a peer reviewer for several journals and also a grant reviewer for National Science Council, Ministry of Science and Technology Taiwan ROC.

Research Interest

My general research interest is to use a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry, electron microscopy and bioinformatics to elucidate the mechanism underlying the function of large protein assemblies known as macromolecular machines. I am particularly interested in the structure-function relation of protein complexes that are involved in establishing chromosome structure and those that mediate gene activation/transcription. I am also open to collaborations with other group leaders who wish to use electron microscopy to answer specific questions in their own research area.
