Biography

Tongwen Xu is a professor of The University of Science and Technology of China. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1989 and Master’s degree in 1992 from Hefei University of Technology, China. He received his Ph.D degree of Chemical Engineering in 1995 from Tianjin University, China and Post-Ph.D of Polymer Science in 1997 from Nankai University, China. Prof. Xu has been a short-term visiting scientist of University of Tokyo and Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2000, 2001 respectively. He received a Brain Pool Program from Korea and worked one year in Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Korea. Till now, he supervised more than 100 graduate students and published more than 350 papers in peer-reviewed international journals with over 7500 citations and H-index 49. He applied 69 invention patents (58 License). Prof. Xu was selected as “New Century Excellent Talents” of Ministry of Education China in 2004 and awarded Outstanding Youth Foundation of China in 2010. He was selected as Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry in 2013 and as Changjiang Scholars Program Chair Professor in 2014. Prof. Xu are serving as execution/guest editors and editorial boards of >5 international journals and serve as monograph editor of three international English books. His research interests cover membranes and the related processes.
