Biography
I am currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. I am interested to investigate the abnormal signaling and underlying molecular mechanisms in glioblastoma, the most common malignant brain tumor in adults. My recent work involved investigation of the role of the mitotic ubiquitin ligase CDC20-APC in malignant characteristics of glioblastoma stem-like cells and demonstrated that CDC20-APC functions through pluripotency-related transcription factor SOX2 to regulate these characteristics. I am also involved in several other studies including a phase I study for the treatment of glioblastoma. One major study with my role as the first author is currently under review at a prestigious scientific journal. My PhD work examined the role of catecholamine signaling in the hindbrain during nutrient deprivation and its effect on the responses of hypothalamic neuropeptides and AMPK to insulin-induced hypoglycemia.
