Biography

Alexander D Verin has received his PhD in Biochemistry from Moscow State University during the period of 1982-1990. Currently, he is a Professor in Vascular Biology Centre in Georgia Regents University at Augusta. He was honoured by American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP) and European Respiratory Society.

Research Interest

Structure and function of cytoskeletal proteins and protein phosphatases; Phosphorylation/dephosphorylation as mechanism of non-muscle cytoskeletal regulation; Relationship between endothelial cell (EC) contractility/cytoskeleton and barrier functionin vitro and in vivo; Crosstalk between microtubules and microfilaments in EC barrier regulation; Cytoskeletal responses to bioactive mediators and receptor/signal coupling in EC; Molecular mechanisms of lung vascular barrier protection/restoration.
