  Introduction: Health information management professionals play critical roles in collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data that physicians, nurses, and other health care providers rely on to deliver quality health care to patients in the hospital. Aim: To assess the knowledge and perception of patients towards the roles and services rendered by Health information professionals in LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Method: The study was a descriptive study design in which 144 respondents took part (42% male and 58% female) in a sample selected from patients in LAUTECH teaching hospital, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria; using simple random sampling to selects respondents.
