Research Interest
Dr. Zhaos research interests include cellular and molecular mechanisms in cardiovascular development and birth defects caused by maternal diabetes mellitus (diabetic embryopathy) and tobacco smoking. His research mainly focuses on development of therapeutic strategies to prevent embryonic malformations in pregnancies affected by diabetes and environmental toxins.
